Watson Mill Bridge, late afternoon
This was shot on the Sony A7RII with my almost forty year old Vivitar 35-70mm f2.8~3.5 MC Macro Focusing zoom (FD mount) that I bought for my Canon A1 around 1978 or 79. This lens is not well remembered or collected. I have just recently seen a couple of posts on vintage lens review sites where a couple of people have stumbled across this old lens and been startled at the IQ of the images it produces. Pentax Forums now even has a review posted on it here https://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/vivitar-35-70mm-f2-8-3-8-macro-focusing-zoom.html.
It appears to have been manufactured for Vivitar by Komine, a well respected Japanese lens OEM manufacturer. This lens may vary a bit per copy as I have seen others post blubs about this lens as very average. If so, then I got lucky and got a good copy forty years ago. And no, I don't think this is world class glass. But its a zoom, and I won't hardly use zooms anymore, yet this old piece puts out a pretty good image.
