CANON LENS FL 50mm 1:1.4 No. 209051

f1.4, 1/800th sec, ISO 100

First shots from another great new old lens. This is the successor to the lens I shot the Brasstown Bald and Russell Pkwy shots with. That being the Canon 1.4 L39 LTM mount designed in 1957 and this successor being the Canon 1.4 FL mount designed in 1967. Since the original LTM was so special at f1.4, I decided for these first shots with the FL to also be f1.4 shots. And while it produces a little bit more busyness in its bokeh as compared to the LTM, its a creamy thing in its own right. It's 'busyness' actually produces an interesting different signature look all its own as compared to the smooth smooth creamy LTM.

Hope that made a modicum of sense!

And here's the lens these pics were shot with

Such a beautifully well crafted thing and they don't make them like this anymore ..

all real steel and human calculated lens surfaces all hand made save for some machine lens grinding
