This n That!
Between challenging winter weather and me just moving pretty slow, I've only gotten a few shots off in February. And since there weren't enough of any particular shots/locations, I've just lumped several small shoots or individual pics together into one page. Just be aware that each section here was shot on different days.
Yellow River at a very high flow
One image in three different treatments, natural color, black and white and then black and white with split toning. This image is a composite of 96 images shot on tripod in 4 brackets of 24 images each -- each bracket approximately 2/3rds stop aperture separation. Each 24 image bracket was mean averaged into a single image and then the 4 resulting bracketed images were brought in as layers into Photoshop and selectively paint blended into thie first resulting natural color image image with a bit of Orton effect (think shimmer) applied to the water. Then the black and white and tones images were created from the color image.

Each of the 96 shots at f16 and ISO 100 with exposure brackets varying from 1/160th second down to 1/30th second.
The shot of the eddy pool is f11, brackets of three exposures at 1/100th, 1/40th and 1/25th seconds, ISO 100
Old Bibb Textile Mill on the Yellow River, Porterdale, GA.
Taken on Feb 8th after rain the previous evening. The Yellow River begins a little ways northeast from my house and is fed by a number of creeks as it winds it's way south -- ultimately making a quite impressive show at the falls in Porterdale.
Bibb Mill later became Dan River Mill, closing in the 80's and now converted into The Mill Lofts housing.
