The Edge of Softness
Three lenses being shot here, the ...
Nippon Kogaku Nikkor_S Auto 1:1.2 f=55mm
Schneider Kreuznach Rollei SL - Xenon 1.8/50
and the
Zenitar-M 1.7/50
I started out shooting the Zenitar at the bottom, taking a full sharp image of the Chrysanthemum. Then I decided to take some softer shots and also check out some different color aspects of other lenses. That led me to the Schneider Kreuznach Rollei, and then because I wanted to go really soft, almost surreal soft with some coma thrown in I went to the Nikkor 1.2. The order here being bottom to top.

The Red fringing you see here is actually magenta combined with the yellow of the flower. It's
spherochromatism, a byproduct of this older wide aperture lens and not standard chromatic aberration -- and is not correctable in post as standard purple/green chromatic aberrations are.
