Sony A7RII with Vivitar 35 - 70mm 1:2.8-3.8 MC Macro Focusing Zoom at approximately 40mm focal length, f16, 30 second exposure @ ISO 50. This lens is a Canon FD mount that I bought about forty years ago for my Canon A1. It's been one of the best value lenses I've encountered and I still love shooting with it today.
This is a very interesting old zoom lens. It appears to have good depth of mod as the color looks very well integrated into the detail. It's quite contrasty and pops colors, but not all colors. At times some colors look saturated while others look muted. So its not the lens for all images but still it amazes me how my forty year old budget purchase has held up and is still producing in my bag.

This was shot in the dead of winter which accounts for the resulting blueish cast

This was shot on the Sony A7RII with my almost forty year old Vivitar 35-70mm f2.8~3.5 MC Macro Focusing zoom (FD mount) that I bought for my Canon A1 around 1978 or 79. This lens is not well remembered or collected. I have just recently seen a couple of posts on vintage lens review sites where a couple of people have stumbled across this old lens and been startled at the IQ of the images it produces. It appears to have been manufactured for Vivitar by Komine, a well respected Japanese lens OEM manufacturer. This lens may vary a bit per copy as I have seen others post blubs about this lens as very average. If so, then I got lucky and got a good copy forty years ago. And no, I don't think this is world class glass. But its a zoom, and I won't hardly use zooms anymore, yet this old piece puts out a pretty good image.
